You scheduled a campaign, checked back an hour later, and half your posts never went live. Frustrating, right? A rejected or pending group post is not always a Facebook ban. Often it is an admin rule, a link policy, or a moderation queue you skipped past too quickly.
In this guide we walk through the most common rejection reasons we see on MaherPost delivery logs, and what to fix before you run the next campaign.

Pending (group admin approval): Post submitted, not visible yet. Normal in strict groups. Not a rejection.
Rejected by admin or auto-mod: Post declined. Message may cite group rules.
Failed (technical): Session timeout, UI change, network blip. Retry once manually.
Facebook restriction: Account-level block from posting. Different from single-group rejection. See account restriction.
Duplicate / spam filter: Meta hides or limits distribution. Often paired with identical copy. See duplicate content flag.
Many local and marketplace groups ban URLs in the main post. Fix: body text only, link in first comment. MaherPost supports first-comment automation after publish.
Even if each admin approves individually, Meta may throttle your account. Fix: spintax or AI variations. Read unique copy at scale.
Groups with “Self-Promo Saturday” rules delete weekday ads. Fix: tag groups in bundles by promo day. Schedule accordingly with best time guide.
Discussion-only groups reject flyers. Buy/sell groups reject blog links. Fix: read pinned rules before adding group to group bundle.
Some groups block posts from members under 7-30 days. Fix: wait or engage manually first during warmup.
OCR-heavy promo graphics trigger filters. Fix: simpler images, more text in post body with variation.
Tagging unrelated members or stuffing hashtags gets removed. Fix: strip auto-tags from templates.
| Pattern | Likely cause | Action |
|---|---|---|
| All pending in one group | Strict admin queue | Reduce frequency there |
| Rejected same message across groups | Rule violation in copy | Edit template |
| Random failures scattered | Session issues | Re-auth extension |
| Success drops account-wide | Restriction brewing | Pause, check Account Health |
Export logs for agency client reports when managing multiple accounts.
Before every promo campaign:
Use ban risk check on borderline copy.
Repeated rule breaks get you banned from the group. MaherPost cannot override a group ban. Remove that group from bundles. Do not retry with alternate accounts (violates group trust and often Facebook ToS).
