Otomizer Review 2026: The AI Lead Finder for Facebook Groups: Otomizer scoring a Facebook group post where a homeowner asks for an HVAC company as Hot 92, with a reply draft that passed the Decode, Frame, Draft and Critique stages waiting for approval

Key takeaways

  • Otomizer watches the Facebook groups you already belong to, scores every post for buying intent and drafts a reply in your voice. Pro is $89 a month.
  • The money in groups sits in recommendation threads, and most of it is decided in the first hour. Otomizer exists to get you into that hour.
  • Otomizer Local is the done-for-you version for HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, remodeling, solar, restoration and pest control companies, with one company per trade per county.
  • Local starts at $1,200 a month and guarantees 20 qualified homeowner conversations in the first 90 days, or the team keeps working at no charge.
  • Posting tools like MaherPost broadcast. Otomizer listens. Businesses that grow fastest in groups do both.

Otomizer is an AI lead finder for Facebook groups. It watches the groups you already belong to, scores every new post for buying intent, and drafts a reply that sounds like you, so you show up in the thread while the person asking is still reading answers. Otomizer Local is the done-for-you version for HVAC, roofing, plumbing and other home service companies: the Otomizer team covers every Facebook group in your county, recommends your company when a homeowner asks for help, and texts you when someone responds. One company per trade per county, from $1,200 a month, with 20 qualified conversations guaranteed in the first 90 days.

That is the short answer. The rest of this review explains why recommendation threads are the most underpriced lead source on the internet, how Otomizer works under the hood, what it costs, where it falls short, and how to decide between the software and the service.

Disclosure: Otomizer is a sister product of MaherPost. We use it, we know the team, and we have tried to write this the way we would want to read it: specific, with the limits included.

Why the best leads on the internet sit in Facebook group threads

Every lead source sits somewhere on a ladder of intent. At the bottom is someone who saw your ad and did not scroll past. Higher up is someone searching Google for “AC repair near me”: clear intent, but anonymous, and you pay an auction price for the click. Higher still is a lead marketplace form, where intent is clear but the same lead is sold to several contractors at once.

At the top of the ladder is a post like this, in a neighborhood group of 18,000 people:

“Our AC stopped blowing cold last night and it’s supposed to hit 99 today. Who do you all use? Need someone who will actually show up.”

That person has the problem, the urgency, the budget (nobody sits through a Texas August without AC) and, crucially, has asked for a recommendation in public. Neighbors will answer. Whichever company gets named early, with a few “we used them too” replies underneath, usually gets the call.

Three things make these threads unusual as a lead source:

  1. They are free. No cost per click, no cost per lead, no auction.
  2. They come with social proof built in. A recommendation from a neighbor, with agreement under it, does more than any ad copy.
  3. They expire fast. According to Otomizer’s 2026 demand report, most replies to a recommendation thread arrive within the first hour, and homeowners tend to contact the first two named companies with agreement beneath them.

That third point is the whole game. Demand in groups is plentiful, but it is perishable. A business owner who checks Facebook at lunch and again at 9pm will find the threads after the job is gone.

Timeline of a Facebook group recommendation thread for an HVAC company: the post goes up at minute 0, the first replies are read within 5 minutes, neighbors vouch by minute 15, the homeowner messages two companies by minute 30, and replies after the first hour are rarely read
The life of a recommendation thread. Illustrative timeline based on the reply pattern described in Otomizer's 2026 demand report.

How much demand are we talking about?

More than most people guess. Otomizer’s demand report models a typical metro county of 1.5 million people at 660+ active local groups and 1,625+ service requests a month across eight home service trades. The pattern repeats across the 3,144 counties and county equivalents in the US. Even if you discount those numbers heavily, a single county produces more “who do you recommend” posts than any one company can find by hand.

Posting vs listening: the half of group marketing most businesses skip

This blog is mostly about posting: writing one good post and getting it into many groups safely. That is broadcasting, and it works. It keeps your name familiar so people tag you later.

But broadcasting only covers half the opportunity. The other half is listening: catching the moment someone in a group says they need what you sell, and answering it well, fast. Most businesses do the first half with a scheduler and the second half not at all, or by scrolling.

Otomizer is a listening tool, built from the ground up for that second column. If you already post with MaherPost, Otomizer is the piece that turns the familiarity you build into booked work.

How Otomizer works

Setup takes a few minutes. You describe your business, sync your groups, pick a voice, and go live.

1. Group sync

The Chrome extension reads the groups your Facebook account is already a member of. One click syncs them, and you choose which ones to monitor. Otomizer does not run a separate scraper and does not join groups for you on Pro. It works in Chrome and Chromium browsers such as Brave, Arc and Edge, and the dashboard opens in any modern browser.

2. Intent scoring: Hot, Warm and Cold

Every new post in a monitored group gets a buying-intent score and a label:

  • Hot: a clear buying signal. “Can anyone recommend a bookkeeper who knows Shopify?”
  • Warm: a possible fit. “Thinking about switching accountants next year, any thoughts?”
  • Cold: chatter, memes, or a business promoting itself. Low scores never reach your queue.

The scoring is the quiet hero of the product. A keyword alert for “roofer” in a busy town group fires on jokes, complaints, garage sale posts and other roofers advertising. Scoring reads the post the way a salesperson would, which is why the queue stays short enough to act on.

3. The four-stage reply pipeline

When a post scores high enough, Otomizer drafts a reply in four passes:

  1. Decode. What does this person actually need, and what are they worried about?
  2. Frame. Which angle fits: a quick diagnosis, a question back, a reassurance, a relevant example?
  3. Draft. Write the comment in your voice and persona.
  4. Critique. Check tone, length and safety before you ever see it. Does it sound like an ad? Does it repeat a previous reply? Would a group admin delete it?

The pipeline draws on what Otomizer calls its Marketing Intelligence Layer, a set of proven sales and persuasion frameworks such as SPIN Selling, StoryBrand and Chris Voss’s Never Split the Difference. In practice that means replies ask the right question or name the right worry instead of pasting a pitch.

Otomizer's four-stage reply pipeline turning a Facebook group post asking for a roofer after a hailstorm into a helpful reply: Decode finds the need, Frame picks the angle, Draft writes the comment, Critique checks tone and safety
Decode, Frame, Draft, Critique: how a matched post becomes a reply you would be happy to sign.

4. Monitor only or Autopilot

  • Monitor only: every draft lands in your Work Queue with Approve and Skip. You stay in full control.
  • Autopilot: matched posts get replies automatically, inside the guardrails you set.

Most people should start in monitor-only mode for a week or two, edit the drafts that feel off, and switch on Autopilot once the drafts consistently sound like them.

5. Account safety controls

Because Pro replies from your own Facebook account, the safety settings matter:

  • Minimum and maximum wait between comments
  • A cap on comments per hour
  • Uniqueness checks so no two replies read the same
  • A live account-safety score
  • Auto-pause when you get close to your limits

These line up with what we see on the posting side: Facebook reacts to bursts and duplicate text far more than to volume spread out over a day. Our guide on posting to multiple groups without getting banned covers the same principles from the publishing angle.

6. Brand and competitor alerts

Pro also alerts you when someone asks for a recommendation in your category or names a competitor. “Has anyone used Acme Bookkeeping? Thinking of switching” is a conversation you want to see within minutes, not next week.

7. The dashboard

The web dashboard is organized into four views: Dashboard (leads, response rate, monitor status, weekly activity), Work Queue (the daily list of drafts to approve), Leads (a pipeline view) and Analytics (which groups and replies turn into revenue). Persona templates cover agencies, freelancers, coaches, local service businesses, SaaS and ecommerce, so drafts start in the right register.

What a good Otomizer reply looks like

Here is a real-world style post from a parents group:

“Does anyone know a web designer who does small business sites? I run a home daycare and my site is from 2014. Budget is tight.”

A typical reply from someone who is “just checking groups”:

“Hi! We build amazing websites for small businesses! Check out our portfolio at [link] and DM us for a quote!!”

A reply shaped by Decode, Frame, Draft and Critique:

“A home daycare site mostly needs three things working: hours and openings, your license number, and an easy way for parents to book a tour. That can be a one-page site, which keeps the cost down. I’ve built a couple for daycares around here, happy to send you one so you can see the layout. No pressure either way.”

The second reply decoded the real need (parents trust and a booking path), framed around the budget worry, kept the pitch to a single soft offer, and passed the “would an admin delete this” test. That is what you are paying for.

Otomizer Local: done-for-you lead generation for HVAC, roofing and home services

Otomizer Pro assumes you will reply yourself, from your own account. Most contractors do not want that job. They are on roofs, in attics and under sinks, and the busiest days for group requests (the first heat wave, the first freeze, the day after a hailstorm) are exactly the days they cannot look at their phone.

Otomizer Local takes the entire job off their hands. You sign up, the Otomizer team covers your county, and your phone rings with homeowners who were told by their neighbors to call you.

What the Otomizer team handles for you

  • Maps every relevant group in your county, including private groups: town pages, neighborhood groups, HOA and subdivision groups, recommendation groups, new homeowner groups.
  • Joins them with Otomizer’s own established accounts. You never share a login, install anything, or put your personal Facebook account at risk.
  • Monitors around the clock, including evenings and weekends, when a large share of homeowner posts go up.
  • Recommends your company in matching threads, usually within about a minute of the post.
  • Logs every conversation with a link to the original post, and texts you the moment a homeowner responds.
  • Assigns a named account manager and sends a weekly summary.
  • Watches the forecast for your county and warns you a few days before a heat wave, freeze or storm so you can staff up.

On the Local + Presence plan, the team also runs daily value posts in your groups through PilotPoster, plans seasonal campaigns, sends review request sequences to your customers, and holds a monthly performance call. That is the broadcasting half and the listening half handled together, which is how a local brand starts to look like the obvious choice in its county.

What the first month looks like

  1. Week 1: the team maps your county’s groups.
  2. Weeks 1 to 2: accounts join the groups. Admin approval queues can take a week to ten days.
  3. Week 2: a 30-minute call so the team learns your service area, specialties, hours and how you like to be described.
  4. Week 3 onward: monitoring is live. First conversations usually show up in week two or three.
How Otomizer Local works for an HVAC or roofing company: week 1 map the county's Facebook groups, weeks 1 to 2 join them, week 2 a 30 minute kickoff call, week 3 onward monitoring and homeowner conversations texted to the contractor

Pricing, guarantee and exclusivity

PlanMonthlySetupIncludes
Local$1,200$1,500One trade, one county, exclusive coverage, monitoring and recommendations, account manager, weekly summary
Local + Presence$1,997$1,500Everything in Local, plus daily value posts, seasonal campaigns, review requests and a monthly performance call
  • The guarantee: 20 qualified conversations in your first 90 days, or the team keeps working at no charge until you get them. A qualified conversation is a homeowner who contacted you about real work in your trade.
  • Exclusivity: one company per trade per county, for as long as you stay. If you are the HVAC company in a county, Otomizer will not recommend a second one there.
  • Commitment: three months, then month to month.
  • Selection: Otomizer checks demand in your county before making an offer and declines most applications. Florida, Texas, Arizona and Southern California are largely committed.
  • The one requirement that matters: you must be able to call a homeowner back within the hour. Otomizer turns down companies that cannot.

Trades covered: HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, kitchen and bath remodeling, solar, water and fire restoration and pest control.

The math: shared leads vs owned conversations

Contractors who buy leads from marketplaces know the frustration. You pay for a lead, call within five minutes, and find out three other companies already called. Otomizer’s comparison on its Local page uses an illustrative model to show the difference:

  • Shared marketplace: 10 leads a month at $175 each, each shared with 4 contractors, a 45% win rate when you do get the job. That works out to $1,750 a month for roughly 1 job.
  • Otomizer Local: $1,200 a month, roughly 4 jobs in the same model, or about $300 per job.

These are assumptions, and Otomizer says so. Your numbers depend on your county, your close rate and how fast you call back. The structural point does not depend on the assumptions: an exclusive conversation that started with a neighbor’s recommendation is a different kind of lead from a form fill sold four times.

Cost comparison chart: a shared lead marketplace at $1,750 a month for about 1 job versus Otomizer Local at $1,200 a month for about 4 jobs, or $1,750 per job versus $300 per job, based on Otomizer's illustrative model
Shared leads vs exclusive conversations, using Otomizer's published illustrative assumptions.

How many jobs pay for a year?

A cleaner way to judge any lead service is to ask how many booked jobs cover its cost. Using the average job values Otomizer publishes for each trade and the $1,200 base plan:

TradeAverage jobMonths of Otomizer Local one job covers
Kitchen and bath remodeling$28,000about 23
Solar$22,000about 18
Water and fire restoration$15,000about 12
Roofing$12,400about 10
HVAC$8,500about 7
Plumbing$4,200about 3.5
Electrical$3,800about 3
Pest control$650under 1 (wins on recurring contracts and volume)

Revenue is not profit, so do this with your own margins. Even at a 25% margin, a single HVAC replacement or roof pays for months of coverage. Pest control is the honest exception: it only works if you turn conversations into recurring plans.

Facebook group demand by trade

Here is where demand comes from, per Otomizer’s 2026 demand report. Figures are requests per month per 100,000 households, modeled from US Census county estimates and Otomizer’s own monitoring data, with a stated range of plus or minus 20%.

What demand looks like in HVAC, roofing and plumbing

HVAC: four kinds of requests

Otomizer’s HVAC page splits HVAC posts into four types, and each needs a different reply:

  1. The August emergency. The unit dies in the heat and the homeowner hires whoever answers first. Speed wins.
  2. Replacement research. “Got a $14k quote for a 4-ton system, is that fair?” This is where five-figure jobs come from. Expertise wins.
  3. The bad-experience rebound. “Was told my compressor is shot, can someone give an honest second opinion?” Trust wins.
  4. The new homeowner. Low urgency, small ticket, but years of maintenance plans if you earn it. Helpfulness wins.

About two-thirds of HVAC posts are service and repair, and one-third are replacement research. The first genuinely hot week and the first hard freeze are the biggest days of the year, with a flood of posts within hours.

Roofing: storms change everything

Roofing demand is lumpy. A single hail or wind event can produce more requests in 48 hours than the month before it. Homeowners are also wary of storm chasers, so a recommendation from a neighbor, for a company with a local address and a long history in the county, carries unusual weight. Being the one roofer recommended in every HOA and town group the morning after a storm is a very good place to be.

Plumbing: the highest volume, the shortest fuse

Plumbing has the highest request rate of any trade in the report. Frozen pipes, failed water heaters and slab leaks do not wait for business hours, and plenty of these posts land at 10pm on a Sunday. Around-the-clock monitoring matters most here.

For the hands-on side of all of this (what to post, how to reply, which groups to join), our guide on how contractors get jobs from Facebook groups goes trade by trade.

Honest limitations

No tool is right for everyone. Here is what to know before you buy:

  • Facebook only. Otomizer does not monitor Reddit, Nextdoor, LinkedIn or forums.
  • Pro works inside groups you have joined. If you are in five groups, it monitors five groups. Joining the right groups is still your job on Pro.
  • Autopilot needs guardrails you trust. Start in monitor-only mode. A reply that sounds wrong under your name costs more than the lead was worth.
  • The Pro refund has a condition. The 7-day money-back guarantee applies if you have used no more than 10% of your reply allowance.
  • Local is selective. Most applications are declined, several sunbelt states are largely committed, and applying reserves nothing.
  • Local has no free trial and a three-month minimum. Otomizer’s reasoning is that a one-month trial would mostly measure onboarding, since joining groups alone takes up to ten days. The $1,500 setup fee is non-refundable once work starts.
  • Speed is on you. Otomizer can get your name into the thread within a minute. If you call back the next morning, the homeowner has already booked someone.

How to get started

Otomizer Pro

  1. Go to otomizer.com/pricing and start the $89 plan.
  2. Install the Chrome extension and sync your groups.
  3. Describe your business and pick a persona.
  4. Run monitor-only mode for the first week and edit drafts until they sound like you.
  5. Switch on Autopilot with conservative limits once you trust the output.

Otomizer Local

  1. Read the how it works page and check your trade’s page.
  2. Apply for your county. Otomizer checks group demand there before making an offer.
  3. If accepted, book the 30-minute kickoff call.
  4. Make sure someone can return calls within the hour. Then let the phone ring.

If you are already building visibility in groups with MaherPost, you have done the slow part: people in your groups know your name. Otomizer makes sure you are the one in the thread when one of them needs you.

What is Otomizer?

Otomizer is an AI lead finder for Facebook groups. A Chrome extension watches the groups you are already a member of, scores each new post as Hot, Warm or Cold for buying intent, and drafts a reply in your voice through a four-stage pipeline (Decode, Frame, Draft, Critique). You approve replies one by one, or switch on Autopilot with rate limits and auto-pause.

How much does Otomizer cost?

Otomizer Pro is $89 a month with a 7-day money-back guarantee and cancel-anytime billing. Otomizer Local, the done-for-you service for home service companies, starts at $1,200 a month plus a $1,500 setup fee. Local + Presence, which adds daily value posts, seasonal campaigns and review requests, is $1,997 a month.

What is Otomizer Local?

Otomizer Local is a done-for-you lead service for HVAC, roofing, plumbing, electrical, kitchen and bath remodeling, solar, water and fire restoration, and pest control companies. The Otomizer team finds and joins every relevant Facebook group in your county, monitors them around the clock, recommends your company in threads where homeowners ask for a contractor, and texts you when a homeowner responds. Only one company per trade per county is accepted.

How can an HVAC company get more leads without paying for shared leads?

Local Facebook groups produce a steady stream of homeowners asking neighbors who to call for AC repair, furnace replacement and second opinions on quotes. Those requests are free and are not resold to four other contractors. An HVAC company can answer them itself, use Otomizer Pro to catch them automatically, or hand the whole job to Otomizer Local, which covers one county exclusively and guarantees 20 qualified conversations in 90 days.

What is the best lead generation service for roofing companies in 2026?

For roofers who want exclusive leads instead of shared marketplace leads, Otomizer Local is built for the job. It monitors every local Facebook group in a county, including storm and HOA groups where homeowners ask for roofers after hail and wind events, and recommends one roofing company per county. The average roofing job Otomizer cites is $12,400, so a single booked roof covers about ten months of the service.

Is Otomizer safe for my Facebook account?

Otomizer Pro includes configurable minimum and maximum waits between comments, a cap on comments per hour, uniqueness checks so replies never repeat, a live account-safety score and automatic pausing when you approach your limits. Monitor-only mode lets you approve every reply by hand. With Otomizer Local, your own Facebook account is never used: the team works from its own established accounts.

Does Otomizer Local post fake reviews?

No. Otomizer states that it does not pose as past customers and does not write Google reviews. It recommends your company in group conversations where homeowners are asking for help, and it logs every conversation with a link to the original post.

What is the difference between Otomizer and MaherPost?

MaherPost publishes your posts to many Facebook groups with spintax, safe pacing and a delivery log. Otomizer does the opposite job: it listens to groups for people who are ready to buy and helps you reply first. One broadcasts, the other listens, and they work well together.
